Can Can for Oxfam

High Kicking Ladies of Lewes

We’re very proud to be supporting Can Can for Oxfam, a fantastic fundraising event in Lewes on International Women’s Day, 8th March on behalf of Oxfam.

Lewes’ own, Michelle Porter, is teaching a can can workshop for novices. You can learn classic can can steps and dress up in petticoats and feather headdresses (all supplied). The workshop ends with everyone doing a cancan kick line before collapsing with exhaustion. At which point they will be revived by tea and a sweet treat from The Buttercup Cafe. Yes, we’re giving all dancers at the workshop one of Biddy’s lovely creme patisserie for their high kick efforts.

We also want to give a round of applause for brave local Lewes town councillor, Petrina Kingham, who has agreed to take part in the workshop too. Please sponsor her on Charity Giving.

The workshop is happening at the All Saints Centre from 12 – 2pm on 8th March. Tickets are £10 and all are welcome. To purchase a ticket contact Michelle at betinatheatre@gmail.com. You can also follow her on twitter @MichelleCPorter
